Betty J. Boysman

Betty J. Boysman, 92, a resident of Oswego passed away on May 30, 2024, at the Oswego Hospital.

Born in Oswego, She was a daughter of the late Frank and Eva (Hoyt) Stoll and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.

She was an operator for the Bell Telephone Company, worked at the Mental Health Center, and later retired from the Department of Social Services.

She was a member of the St.Paul’s Altar Rosary Society and worked at the St.Paul’s Rectory. She was affectionally known as “Charlie” the lunch lady at the St.Paul’s Academy.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Dan Batchelor) Boysman, and Sally (Karlton Lyons) Van Buren both of Oswego, seven grandchildren,  Kishah Sweet, Heather Lee, Jamie Lyn Blum (Michael), Jesse McWain (Tracy), Nicole VanBuren, Katelynn VanBuren, and Chelsea Oughterson. He has 13 great-grandchildren: Noah Lee, Asher Zych, Addison Lee, Connor Joyce, Jayden Lee, Cole Joyce, Jonah Zych, Quinn Joyce, Aiden Ladd, Rayna Ladd, Gavin McWain, Gannon Ladd and Adelynn McWain and a great great grandchild, Vienna Rose.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Boysman, in 2021, daughter , Mary Boysman in 2013, and sister, Evelyn Winterhalt.

Calling hours for Betty and her husband Robert will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 – 11:00 at the Dowdle Funeral Home with a service to follow the hours.

Burial will follow at St.Peter’s Cemetery.
