Burt E. Abbott

OSWEGO – Burt E. Abbott, 73, a resident of Oswego passed away on December 16, 2024 at his home

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Leonard and Lillian (Price) Abbott and had attended Mexico schools.

He was employed with SUNY Oswego and was a Pipefitter.

Burt was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force from 1971-1975.

He was also a gardener, who adored his wife, his cats and his family. He deeply enjoyed hunting and spending time with his friends up at the cabin during the hunting season. With a love for westerns and war movies, and always happy to help those on his block be it mowing their lawns at no charge, or plowing the roads to make sure the children had room to walk to and from school in the winter. Burt loved to help and be of value to those around him.

Surviving are his wife of fourteen years, the former Maryann Lagoe,  five children, Burt Abbott Jr. of Oklahoma, Scott Abbott of Oswego, Deanna (Mike) Godin of Oswego, Cassie Abbott of Oswego, Joshua David Germain of Conn. and ten siblings.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

There are no calling hours.
