Carol A. Sanford

OSWEGO – Carol A. Sanford, 89, a resident of Minetto passed away on September 27.2026.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Norine (Comerford) Tripp. She graduated from St. Mary’s School and Oswego High School.

Carol was a cashier for Beneficial Finance for almost thirty years and a Teacher’s Aide for the Oswego City School District for sixteen years,

She enjoyed playing golf and gaming, was a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America, an associate member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and was a long-time member of Our Lady of Perpetual Church in Minetto, as well as spending time with her children, grandchildren.and great  grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters, Patti Vanella of Florida, Terri (Terry) Dopp of Redfield,her son, Michael (Francine) Sanford of Oswego, four grandchildren, Chris (Liz) Jock of Oswego, Ryan (Lily Moytka) Jock of Oswego, Jon (Jackie) Sanford of Virginia, Sarah (Brandon) Mynhier of Tennessee; a brother Sam (Pat) Tripp of Oswego; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard (Ike) Sanford and a brother, James Tripp.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto.

Entombment will be in All Saint’s Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00-5:00
