OSWEGO – It is with profound sadness that I share the tremendous loss of my beloved mother, fierce protector, guiding mentor, doting nana, supportive sister, aunt, cousin, niece, co-worker, supervisor, loyal friend and precious human being, E.Jane West.
She took her final breath just after sunrise on her earthly journey as she transitioned and ascended.with angel wings and flew, accompanied by loved ones who predeceased her on August 5, 2025 at 83 years old after a courageous battle with Alzheimers.
She was born in Syracuse, NY on February 24, 1942 to her late parents Clarice Randall and Lewis Parry. She was raised on a farm in New Haven, NY under the care of her mother and step-father Edward P. Jones. Jane was a 1960 graduate of Mexico Academy High School. She was a diligent student and served as a majorette baton twirler.
Jane was a dedicated employee of SUCO/SUNY Oswego in several departments with her career as a professional ending after 38 years of service as an Associate Register.
In retirement her greatest joy was time with her family, always wanting to create and prepare all the holiday meals but most especially her time with her grandson Ryan, They had many adventures together. Her absolute favorite place to be was the beach at Fair Haven, enjoying the sun and ending the day with a beautiful sunset. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, sing and dance with 70’s music as her particular favorite . She had a strong interest and eye for interior design and enjoyed her flower gardens, Through the years many turned to her for loyal support and sage advice, always keeping each person’s private conversation in confidence, She had a strong independent opinion and mature and very self assured of her skills and knowledge.. She lived a life of integrity , purpose, sacrifice and most of all unconditional love. She will be greatly loved, missed and remembered by many, but eternally loved , missed, remembered and left to carry on her legacy by her beloved daughter and grandson.
