Evelyn A. Vorse, 89

OSWEGO, NY – Evelyn A. Vorse, 89, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Tuesday June 24, 2014, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late William and Nelda (Sova) Knopp and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

Evelyn was employed with the Netherland Dairy for 20 years and later was employed with the Mobile Warehousing for five years.

She was a member of the Elks Lodge #271 and was a life member of the Elks’ Ladies Auxiliary.

She loved to read, bake, crochet, travel and cook.

She was a volunteer with R.S.V.P. and was a cat lover.

Surviving are her sister, Mildred Freemantle of Arizona; nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Michele (Pascale Alard) Kosiewicz.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1975; her longtime companion, Edward Kosiewicz; and her brothers, Frederick, Edward and William Knopp.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service.
