F. William ‘Bill’ Knight

OSWEGO, NY – F. William “Bill” Knight, a former resident of County Route 25 who was born on February 28, 1933, in Oswego NY, to the late Frederick and Ann (Bracken) Knight passed away on Monday November 5, 2012, at Oswego Hospital.

Bill owned and operated Bill’s Exxon Service Center for more than 20 years.

He was a star route driver for the USPS and worked for Niagara Mohawk for 17 years achieving the position of “hot stick” lineman.

Bill was a life member of the Oswego BPOE and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians.

He was also a communicant of St.Paul’s Church.

Surviving are his sister Marilyn (Jack) Fitzgerald of Williamsburg, Va. (formerly of Oswego); three daughters, Janet Knight, Jayne Knight and Jennifer (Nader) Majlaton all of Oswego; his beloved grandsons, Max and Alec Majlaton; as well as his brother and sister-in-laws, Jim and Ester Rebbeor and Robert Rebbeor; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of more than 50 years, L. Jane Knight, in 2006.

Bill enjoyed many Elk trips to Las Vegas with his best girl Jane over the years.

He loved tending to his lawn and gardens with his John Deere Tractor as well as attending gatherings with his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
