OSWEGO, NY – Geraldine M. Shear, 86, a former resident of St. Luke Apartments, passed away on Monday June 20, 2011, at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Madrid, NY, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Anna (McDermott) Clark and was a graduate of the Norwood high school.
She was a nurse’s aide at Valhaven.
Geraldine was a co-founder and lifetime member of the VFW Post #5380 in Hannibal.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and listening to Blue Grass music.
Surviving are her daughters, Darlene (Michael) Plunkett of Oswego and Bonnie (John) Ciszewski of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Clifford (Alberta) Clark, of Oswego; one sister, Pauline Wegzyn of Oswego; three granddaughters; two grandsons; four great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Shear, who passed away on Dec. 15, 1977.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-6 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
