Grace M. Kraft, 99

OSWEGO, NY – On Tuesday March 17, 2015, Grace M. Kraft passed away after a short illness.

She had just celebrated her 99th birthday on March 12.

Grace was a lifelong resident of Oswego.

Her parents, Pius J. and Henrietta F. Kraft, along with her siblings, Jean A. Kraft,
Elizabeth F. Kraft and Frank K. Kraft, predeceased her.

She is survived by her cousins, Mary Ann Sterling, Jean (Donald) Pool and Cathy Chapman; along with her special friends and helpers, Sandy Cahill, Casey Morley, Gina Neild and Val O’Neil.

Grace was a lifelong communicant of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church.

She was a graduate of St. Paul’s Academy, Oswego High School and Oswego
State, where she received her degree in education.

Grace was a member of the faculty and taught at Cooper School, Kingsford Park
School and Leighton School in Oswego.

She also served as a vice principal and acting principal.

Grace loved gardening and flower arranging as well as handicrafts, particularly
knitting and crocheting.

She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards and skating.

Grace was an avid fan of Syracuse University Basketball and Coach Jim Boeheim and
enthusiastically followed the team’s fortunes.

Calling hours will be at the Dowdle Funeral Home, 154 E. Fourth St., Oswego, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Church, 50 E. Mohawk St.,  Oswego, on Saturday at 10 a.m. missing or outdated ad config
