Harold T. Buske

OSWEGO, NY – Harold T. Buske, 90, of Liverpool, passed away on Thursday Sept. 1, 2011, at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse.

Born in Oswego, NY, he was the son of Elizabeth Buske and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

Harold joined the Syracuse Fire Department in 1948 and retired after 34 years of service.

He was a lifetime member of the Syracuse Firefighters Local 280, and was member of the American Legion, Post # 188, Liverpool, NY.

He was also a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Syracuse Retired Firefighters Association.

Bud was an avid outdoorsman. He fished and hunted with friends throughout the state and also enjoyed playing golf.

Harold was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Nona Mary Maxon Buske, in 1992.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Mary Catania; his four children, Drew J. (Barbara) Buske, Douglas E. Buske, David F. (Barbara) Buske and Deborah Ann Terpening; nine grandchildren, Kristen (John) Haeger, Drew (Meghan) Buske II, Kerry (Paul) Dominski, Colleen Buske, Christopher Buske, Caitlin Buske, Michelle Buske, Michael Terpening and Bridget Terpening; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Haeger, Molly Haeger, Anna Dominski and Quintyn Buske.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church in Oswego.

Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
