OSWEGO, NY – Helen M. Fitzgerald, 74, a resident of East Fifth Street, passed away on Thursday February 28, 2013, at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Katherine (Jessmore) Brownell and had attended Oswego schools.
She was a homemaker.
Helen was a member of the VFW #5885 and enjoyed making crafts.
Surviving are her daughter, Colleen (Lee) Scheirer of Oswego; three grandchildren, Mark, Shawn and Stephanie Scheirer; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Eric and Antoni; a brother, George Brownell of Florida; and a sister, Sharon Brownell of Pulaski.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Fitzgerald, in 2006.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 – 11 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charity of choice.
