John A. ‘Jack’ Loomis

OSWEGO, NY – John A. “Jack” Loomis, 68, a resident of 150 E. First St., passed away on Thursday July 21, 2011, at his home.

Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Anthony and Madeline (Bryson) Loomis and had attended Oswego schools.

John was an electrician and had worked many sites throughout Oswego County.

He was a member of the American Legion #268 and the VFW #2320.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

Surviving are his son, John A. (Cindy) Loomis Jr. of Parish; three daughters, Christine (Kevin) Bornheimer of Oswego, Tammy (David) Antonucci of Watertown and April Blanchard of Indiana; three sisters, Irene Clark of Oxford, NC, Patricia Powers of Chambersburg, Pa., and Linda King of Oswego; a brother, Richard Loomis of Layton, Utah; two stepdaughters, Celeste Carnes and Leita King; his former wife, Catherine (Hibbert) Alton; several grandchildren and great
grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothea Loomis; a sister, Florence Ladd; and a brother, Ronald Loomis.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 -3 p.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow.

Burial will be in the future at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
