OSWEGO, NY – John J. “Jack” Saddington , 83, a resident of East Oneida Street, passed away on Wednesday morning December 12, 2012, at St.Luke Health Services.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Warren and Amber (Stacy) Saddington and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
Mr. Saddington was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Navy Air Command from 1950-1954.
Jack was a member of the Oswego Fire Department for 36 years serving from 1954-1990.
He retired with the rank of Acting Chief.
Surviving are his sister-in-law, Jean (Henry) Babcock of Oswego; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eileen M. Saddington, on September 13, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from St.Peter’s Church.
Burial will be in St.Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
