OSWEGO, NY – Julia Cavanaugh Luke, 95, a resident of RD 1, Scriba, passed away on Thursday January 3, 2013, at Seneca Hill Manor.
Julia was born in Oswego, the daughter of William and Jessie (Askew) Cavanaugh.
She graduated from St.Paul’s School and attended New Rochelle School of Nursing.
She worked in the maternity ward at Oswego Hospital for many years.
Julia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Gail (Ned) Goebricher; her son, Richard (Carol) Luke; her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Luke Warner; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Luke; her granddaughter, Meredith Luke Warner; her sisters, Elizabeth (Leo) Monette, Rose Benedict) Buscher; and a brother, John Cavanaugh.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Oswego at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery with her beloved husband and granddaughter.
