OSWEGO – Karen Lillian Bateman, 82, a resident of Oswego passed away on December 1, 2024, at the St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Pauline (Croft) Wadas and had attended Oswego schools.
She was employed with the Palladium Times for twenty years and SUNY Oswego for twenty years.
Karen was known for her boundless generosity, always giving freely and selflessly to others. Karen’s greatest joy in life was her family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her children and grandchildren, filling their lives with laughter and love. She loved fishing and soaking up the sun, with Elvis’s music as the perfect soundtrack to her days.
Surviving are two daughters, Kim Fantom of Oswego, Tammy (Bill) Hammond of Oswego, two sons Dickie Bateman of New Haven, Brian (Laura) Bateman of Oswego, a brother, Ronald Wadas of South Carolina, a sister, Ginger Graham of Scriba, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson, Nathan Hammond, brother, Jack Wadas, daughter-in-law, Karen Madden, and her beloved dog Buddy
.Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
