OSWEGO, NY – Lois Irene Murray who celebrated her 90th birthday on April 3 passed away on Monday April 7, 2014, at Oswego Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born on April 3, 1924, in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Maud (O’Brien) Garno.
She was a graduate of St. John’s School and Oswego High School.
Lois enjoyed being with her family, sharing memories, watching movies and television, playing cards (especially Euchre) and bingo.
Surviving are her three children, daughter, Cherie Ann Crider and twins, a son, Lindley O. Murray and daughter, Lora Lee DeSantis; five grandsons, Joseph William DeSantis III, Brian E. DeSantis, Troy C. Murray, Chad L. Murray and Heath N. Murray.
She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Lindley B. Murray and her grandson, Ronald Lindley Crider who both passed away in 1987.
She was also predeceased by her two brothers, Kenneth and Harold (Hap) Garno; five sisters, Helen Garno, Norma Garno, Agnes Garno, Edna Fetterly and Avis Ahart.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
