Lorraine M. Conaway
Lorraine M. Conaway, 65, passed away on September 19, 2025, with her family by her
side.
Born in Oswego, NY, she was the daughter of Robert “Butch” Delahunt and the late
Margaret “Peggy” Delahunt and was the oldest of 5 children. She graduated from
Oswego High School where she was a member of the Marching Bucs, the Home Ec.
club and a sister in the sorority Theta Phi Omega. Lorraine attended nursing school
and pursued a career in caretaking before starting a family and becoming a wife.
Lorraine was a devoted wife to her late husband Thomas Conaway, of Oswego, NY and
a loving mother to their 6 children. As an avid nature lover, she spent much time
adventuring throughout the countryside and mountains with her family, often enjoying
camping trips, and spontaneous adventures. Lorraine also loved gardening and
flowers. She was known to create beautiful flower arrangements for any occasion,
leading to a small business, “Little Things by Lorraine.” Family was very important to
Lorraine. Holidays and family gatherings were always treated as a priority with much
care and attention applied to each one that would always lead to ever-lasting memories
being created for all her family and friends. Lorraine was a loving and devoted
grandmother to 6 grandchildren whom she adored. She was a fun loving and care-free
spirit who loved to share laughter with those around her. Her genuineness, compassion,
and kindness will be missed immensely by all who knew Lorraine.
Surviving are, her father, Robert (Audrey) Delahunt, her children, Ben (Amanda)
Conaway of Rochester, Nick (Maria) Conaway of Oswego, Jane E. Conaway of Fulton,
Jeanene Dunham of Oswego, Amber (Ryan) Phelps of Baldwinsville, Jeremy (Nytesha)
Dunham of North Carolina, grandchildren, Carter Conaway, Lucas Conaway, Leo
Conaway, Lyla Phelps, Ava Phelps and Madilynn Mulkey, her two sisters, Margaret
(John) Zalenski, AnnMarie Cliff, and brother, Scott Delahunt along with several nieces
and nephews and numerous in-laws though out the country.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Conaway, her mother Margaret
Delahunt, her brother, Robert Delahunt Jr., her father in-law Frank L. Conaway Sr. and
mother in-law Jane Conaway.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. from Christ the Good Shepherd
Church.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 9:30-10:30.
