Madelyn M. ‘Tina’ Ellingwood, 82

OSWEGO, NY – Madelyn M. “Tina” Ellingwood, 82, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Tuesday June 4, 2019, at the St. Luke Health Services.

Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Madelyn (Fyle) Rose Sr. and had attended Oswego schools.

She was employed with the Ostead’s Corporation before becoming a barmaid with the Bayshore Grove, Jocko’s, Donohue’s and the Oswego Moose Club.

She was a charter member of the Oswego Moose Club and was a member of the VFW #5885.

She enjoyed cooking and gardening and doing puzzles.

Surviving are her daughter, Alta Lorraine (Patrick) Larson of Oswego; a son, David Ellingwood of Oswego; three grandchildren, Sarah Cortright Miller, Payton Ellingwood and Gianna Ellingwood; three great-grandchildren, Madelyn Cortright, Rowan Miller and Ava Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gene Ellingwood, in 1971; her brother, Martin “Skip” Rose Jr.; and her sister, Alta “Sis” Bogart.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m.

The family would like to thank the seventh floor at St. Luke Health Services for the kindness shown to them during Madelyn’s stay.
