OSWEGO, NY – Mary E. Johnson, 90, a resident of East Eighth Street, passed away on Monday April 16, 2012, at her home.
Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Buckley) Bumpus.
She was a graduate of both the St.Paul’s Academy and Oswego High School.
Mary was a homemaker and an avid reader.
She was the former Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member the PTA at Riley School.
She enjoyed bowling and crafts.
Surviving are four daughters, Elaine (Edwin) Croucher, Nancy Kraus, Dolores (Brian) Wills and Marcia (Alan) Farrell all of Oswego; three sons, David (Jeanne) Johnson of Oswego, Robert (Pam) Johnson of Oswego and Daniel (Nicola) Johnson of Eagle, Colorado; a brother, Charles (Elizabeth) Bumpus of Minetto; a daughter-in-law, Judy Johnson of Franklin, Massachsetts; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Avery Johnson, in 2001; two sons, William Johnson in 1980 and James Johnson in 2000; and a brother, Maurice Bumpus.
Funeral services will be held on Thrusday at 11 a.m. from St.Peter’s Church.
Burial will be in St.Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
