OSWEGO, NY – Mary Louise (Crimmins) Monica, 69, a former resident of Oswego, passed away on Saturday April 28, in Franklinville NY.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (McCaffrey) Crimmins and had attended Oswego schools.
She was the owner of the South Ridge Restaurant in Watertown, NY, with her first husband, David Monica.
She managed the Little Buck Convenience Store for several years in North Carolina and retired from Wal-Mart customer service in 2017 after 24 years of service.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved entertaining, traveling , the water, swimming and playing with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Lawrence G. King of Franklinville; a son, David (Lauren) Monica Jr. of North Carolina and their children, Mary Rose Monica and David Allen Monica; three sisters, Carol Sawyer of Oswego, Theresa (Anthony) Froio of Fulton and Donna Tunis of Oswego; a brother, Michael Crimmins of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Danielle (Chad Backus) Graves; and great-grandchildren, Kyra, Kyana and Kobe Graves.
She was predeceased by her brother, Fred Crimmins; and two sisters, Catherine Taylor and Joan Crimmins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home, with a calling hour from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
