OSWEGO, NY – Peter David Chapman, 83, a resident of Oswego passed away on Saturday March 26, 2016, at St.Luke Health Services.
Born in Liverpool, he was the son of the late David and Erma Chapman and was a graduate of the Liverpool High School.
Mr. Chapman was a veteran who served more than 20 years with the United States Army.
He retired from the Indian Springs Manufacturing in Jordan N.Y. and was an Oswego city crossing guard.
He loved camping and traveling.
He was an avid race car fan with Jeff Gordon being his favorite.
He was a season ticket holder of the Oswego Speedway.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, the former Marilyn Perry; two sisters, Shella Ventrone of Florida and Charlotte Laffin of Mexico; step-children, Kenneth Cornelius, Louise Cornelius, Melissa Cornelius and Wayne (Laurie) Cornelius all of Oswego; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Bruce Chapman.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
