OSWEGO – Philip S. Slobe, 95, a resident of the Town of Oswego passed away at his home on May 25,2025 with his family by his side.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Frank and Agnes (Zayown) Slobe. He attended Oswego schools and was a graduate of Morrisville College.
He was employed with the NY Telephone for over thirty years.
Mr. Slobe was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict.
He enjoyed working outdoors and having a little whisky every now and then.
Surviving are his daughter, Lisa (William) Reedy of Cicero, Son, Jeff (Trudy) Slobe of Oswego, Son, Brian(Juanita)Slobe of Buffalo, two sisters, Florence Meakin of Oneida, Alicia Chick of Oswego, four grandchildren, Jack Slobe, Bryan Slobe, Brianna Reedy, Will Reedy and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan Slobe in 2006 and three brothers, Donald Slobe, Richard Slobe and David Sloan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 from the All Saint’s Mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00-7:00.
