OSWEGO, NY – Rita M. Howard, 89, a resident of 182 E. Fifth St., passed away on Monday Aug. 16, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of late Thomas and Mary (Cuyler) Somers and had attended Oswego schools.
She was employed with Brennaman Hartshorn, Flexo Wire and later with G.E.
Surviving are three daughters, Dianne (David) Howard Johnson of Scotia, NY, Deborah J. Ferguson of Oswego and Kim M. Taylor of Oswego; a sister, Marilyn Batchelor of Oswego; four grandchildren, Daniel (Melissa) Taylor of Oswego, Deborah (Ralph) Giberson of Oswego, Colleen F. Dugan of Scotia and Christine M. Dugan; two great-grandchildren, Rose Marie Giberson and Grace Marie Taylor both of Oswego; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Rita was predeceased by her husband, Rolland Howard, in 1982; and a son-in-law, Daniel Taylor, in 2008.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
