OSWEGO, NY – Theresa A. “Terry” Coffey, 69, a former resident of Oswego, passed away on Saturday June 22, 2019, in Maryland.
Born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Carmine and Vera (O’Dell) Fosco.
She graduated from the Ticonderoga High School, class of 1968 and
SUNY Oswego, class of 1972.
She was a homemaker and was a volunteer and past president (1977-1978) of the Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County.
She loved to knit and was an avid reader, particularly of murder mysteries.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen (James) Monahan of Stevensville, Md.; her son, Patrick (Karen) Coffey of Douglassville, Pa.; siblings: Carl (Brenda) Fosco of Glen Falls, NY, Paul Fosco, Ticonderoga, NY, Sharon (Loyal) Newell, Virginia Beach, Va., grandchildren: Liam T. Monahan, Thomas P. Coffey, Emma R. Monahan, and Daniel P. Coffey.
She was predeceased by her college sweetheart and husband of 43 years, Thomas G. Coffey Jr.; and her brothers, John Fosco and Mark Fosco.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with a service to follow the hours.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
