OSWEGO – Thomas G. Hansel, 86, a resident of Oswego passed away on October 28, 2024, at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Oswego, He was a son of the late George and Helen (Murray) Hansel and attended Oswego schools.
He was employed with the Niagara Mohawk Steam Station for twenty years. He was the owner/operator of the Front Door Tavern and Gaslight Pub. Tom also owned Rainy Day Productions.
Mr. Hansel was a veteran of the United States Marines and the United States Naval Reserves.
He was a member of the Oswego Elks Lodge #271 and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He also loved to tell stories and was also a lover of all dogs .
Surviving are his son, Christopher (Jeanette) Hansel of Oswego, daughter, Colleen Bartlett of Camillus, two brothers, Timothy Hansel of Oswego, Robert Hansel of Camillus, a sister, Joan McCrobie of Oswego, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Melissa Anne Hansel in 1973.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00-5:00.
