Thomas N. O’Connor

OSWEGO, NY – Thomas N. O’Connor, 70, a resident of Simeon-DeWitt Apartments, passed away on Thursday Aug. 4, 2011, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Auburn, NY, he was a son of the late John and Virginia (Joplin) O’Connor and had received his education in Savannah, New York schools.

Thomas had been a supervisor for the Morris Protective Agency in Syracuse for more than 15 years until his retirement.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1962 until 1964.

Thomas enjoyed reading and had a special interest in World War II history both written and documentary.

He is survived by two daughters, Joanne O’Connor of Oswego and Hope (Joseph) Santamore of Rome; one son, Jeffrey (Melissa Cronk) O’Connor of Oswego; two brothers, Carl O’Connor of Hannibal and Jack (Rose) O’Connor of Seneca Falls; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, John O’Connor; and a sister, Dorothy Flummerfelt.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Ingerson officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Burial will be in Fort Hill Cemetery in Auburn, NY, at the convenience of the family.
