Wayne R. Earl Jr., 62

OSWEGO, NY – Wayne R. Earl Jr., 62, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Monday March 4, 2013, at his home.

Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Wayne R. and Betty Jane (Seely) Earl and was a graduate of Oswego High School.

He was employed with the Miller Brewery, Lazerak Inc. and later was the owner and operator of Wayne’s Place in Oswego.

Mr. Earl was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany from 1969-1975.

He was a member of VFW #5885.

His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and attending opening day of the Syracuse Skychiefs baseball season every year with his son, Wayne T. Earl Sr.

Surviving are his two daughters, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Gunther and Jayne (Shawn) Fetterley both of Oswego; seven grandchildren, Cassidie, Sarah, Maiya, Chelsea, Wayne Jr., Wyatt and Shelby; three sisters, Nancy (Garry) Lewis of Oswego, Brenda Earl of Daytona Beach and Ada (Danny) Dunsmore of North Carolina; three brothers; Gene Earl of Daytona Beach, Marty Earl of Sterling and Robert (Michelle) Earl of Fulton; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Wayne T. Earl who passed away on March 1, 2013.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours for Wayne R. Earl Jr. and his son, Wayne T. Earl Sr. will be held on Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home.
