FULTON, NY – Albert Monroe Searles, of Volney, has gone to be with his Lord (Friday April 27, 2012).

Shown in the picture taken last year, Al had enjoyed an active life for 99 years.

Born in Oswego, he was a life resident of the Oswego – Volney area.

Al was a 50-year member of Minetto United Methodist Church and was the oldest living male member.

In 2006, he was honored as the oldest person living in the town of Volney and was given the honor of serving as the grand marshall for the parade that year.

Al was a Master Mason of Lake City Lodge #127, F. &A.M. in Oswego where he was a member for more than 50 years, member of Lake Ontario Commandery #32, K.T. and the York Rite College of North America.

He was a member of Media Shriners in Watertown where he participated with the horse patrol in many local parades.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Norma Fielding, who died in 1972; and by his daughter, Judith A. White, who died in 1993.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Elizabeth; his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Peter Bock; his step-daughter, Susan E. Brown; step-son, Robert W. Patrick; three grandchildren; Cathy (Jay) Lamb, Edward (Danielle) White and Jason (Dawn) Bock; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.

There are no calling hours.

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Oswego.
