Alice Barbagallo

FULTON – July 18, 2026, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Louise Barbagallo, who passed away peacefully in her sleep at Seneca Hill Manor. Born and raised in Oswego, Alice was one of seven children born to German immigrant parents who arrived in America through Ellis Island. She was less than four months away from her 99th birthday, and no one was more surprised by her longevity than Alice herself.

Following her marriage, she moved to Fulton, where she spent over 70 years in the home she and her husband built together. There, she raised her two children and spent countless happy hours tending to her flower gardens, showcasing her incredible gift for landscaping. Alice was a firm believer in keeping busy and rarely sat idle; she was a talented seamstress who often made her own clothes, an excellent cook, and an avid baker. Alice also loved a quiet afternoon spent reading, with a particular passion for homemaking and domestic arts.

In their retirement years, Alice and Joe loved to explore, fulfilling dreams of traveling to Alaska and Hawaii, wintering in the warmth of Florida, and frequently visiting Branson, Missouri, for its lively entertainment as well as Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Above all, they cherished family time. They loved taking their grandchildren on special shopping trips to the L.L. Bean flagship store and the outlets in Kittery, Maine when they visited them in Massachusetts.

Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Barbagallo, and their son, Joe Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Hayden, and her husband, Greg; her cherished grandchildren, Mark, Derek, and Emily Hayden, all of Boxford, MA; her sister, Ruth Sciortino; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, services will be a simple graveside gathering for immediate family. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
