OSWEGO – Andrea L. Whitney, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, at the age of 48. Born on Sunday, October 23rd, 1977, in Oswego, New York, Andrea was a cherished resident of Parish, NY, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.
Andrea is survived by her devoted husband, Waylon G. Whitney, of Parish, NY; her loving parents, Lonie Reid Henderson and Ruth Ann Henderson; her cherished children, Makenzy (Jacob) Downing, Makayla Whitney, and Makyle Whitney; and her adored grandchildren, Russell and Benjamin who affectionately knew her as Panda. She also leaves behind her brother, Eric Henderson, and her furry companions, Hyde and Frank, who brought her much joy. Andrea’s legacy of love extends to several nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will miss her dearly.
For over 12 years, Andrea was a dedicated store manager at Appledale Orchards in Mexico, New York, where she was known for her hard work and vibrant spirit. Her colleagues and customers alike appreciated her warmth and enthusiasm.
Andrea had a deep love for nature, finding joy in hummingbirds, flowers, and gardening. She enjoyed walking and cherished her role as a grandmother, always treasuring the time spent with her grandchildren. Andrea was a great mom who loved her children fiercely and was known for being the life of the party, bringing energy and joy to every gathering.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4 PM to 6 PM, followed by a funeral service celebrating Andrea’s life at 6 PM at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY.
