FULTON – Brenda L. Thompson, 72, of Ira, died peacefully on June 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Born in Auburn to the late, Robert and Carol Lunkenheimer, she was a life resident of the Ira area. Brenda worked at Andrew Michaud Nursing Home as an LPN for many years where she enjoyed caring for others. Brenda loved sewing and sharing her passion for quilting. She was an avid baker who was enthusiastic about sharing special treats with friends and family. You could often find her tending to her flower beds or admiring the hummingbirds outside her kitchen window.
Brenda was predeceased by her husband, Gerald D. Thompson; her parents; and her brother, Larry Lunkenheimer.
Brenda is survived by her loving sons, Donald (Kelley) Thompson of Oswego and Jerry (Kim) Thompson of Cato; siblings, Gloria (Chuck) Akins, Sally (Terry) Salisbury, Sandra Sherman and David (Penny) Lunkenheimer; grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends. Brenda will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her.
