Dorothy B. Carswell, 96, of Hannibal, died Wednesday at home.
Born in Massena she was a resident of Hannibal for the past 12 years, previously living in Liverpool. Dorothy was a receptionist for Dr. Lesson in Syracuse for many years.
Dorothy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star # 200 and First Methodist Church, both in Boerne, Texas. She attended Oswego Christian Alliance Church. Dorothy loved to travel.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Chester R. Carswell who died April 15, 1984; a daughter, Patricia A. Raymond who died in 1998 and by several siblings. Surviving: a son, Raymond “Pete” (Lynn) Carswell of Hannibal; a brother, Carl Boak of FL; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.
