FULTON – January 9, 2024, Elaine Rowlee Knight, 89, of Fulton, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the Manor at Seneca Hill. She was born on June 22, 1934, in Fulton, to the late Elon K. and Gertrude Candee Rowlee. She was part of the choir at State Street Methodist Church, as well as serving as Chair for Holiday decorating events, a member of the Fulton Women’s Garden, had an active role in fundraising for the Cracker Barrell Fair, hosted foreign exchange students and was a big supporter of G. Ray Bodley music and athletics. Elaine had a deep appreciation for wildlife, nature, and all of God’s creations. She enjoyed reading, knitting, drawing, decorating, and most of all her family and her home. She will always be remembered for her wit and sense of humor. Elaine married the love of her life, Donald Knight in 1952 and they enjoyed 66 years together.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald H. Knight; three siblings, Janice Fay Ludington, Clyde Rowlee, Jane Shaver; as well as nieces and nephews.

Surviving are four children, Beth Knight of Fulton, Donald “Skip” (Mary Beth) Knight of Fulton, Kurt (Laurie) Knight of MI and Sarah Knight of FL; nine grandchildren, Karrie Schremp, Alissa Bush, Taylor (Hannah) Knight, Amanda (Derek) Pender, Kelsey (Brian) Small, Kristel Bragg, Matthew (Alyssa) Davis, Robert (Kelle) Farrell and Thomas (Jenn) Farrell; seven great-grandchildren; three siblings, Judith Howard of FL, Kevan Rowlee of GA, and Adele (Phil) Sheldon of Fulton; brother-in-law, Francis Knight of CA; sister-in-law, Rosiland Knight of Fulton as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated staff at the Manor at Seneca Hill; nursing, CNA’s, reception, therapy, nutrition, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance. Everyone treated our mom with much love and respect and made her final years as positive as possible.

There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 27th at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, County Route 45, Fulton, with a graveside service at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton, and a reception to follow. Donations may be made to one of the following in Elaine’s memory, Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, County Route 45, Fulton or The Michael J.
