Ethel P. Ives, 95

FULTON, NY – Ethel P. Ives, 95, of Volney and The Manor at Seneca Hill, passed away on Sunday April 7, 2013.

She was born in Volney and graduated from Fulton High School.

Ethel had been a Stanley Home Products sales representative for more than 30 years and had previously worked at Nestle Company.

She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Women Society of Christian Service and served as a 4H leader.

Ethel was the matriarch and social butterfly of the family and was devoted to caring for and helping her family and friends.

She enjoyed music, traveling, being with people and life.

Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Lewis A. Ives, in 1979; brother, Earl Allen; and sisters, Gladys Strong, Betty Tobias and Arlene Kush.

Surviving are her son, Ronald (Jean) Ives and daughter, Elaine (Dennis) Lockwood all of Volney; a sister, Jean Halsey of Pulaski; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, County Route 45 in Volney, with services immediately following at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 441 Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204 or Recreation Program at The Manor at Seneca Hill, 20 Manor Drive, Oswego, NY 13126.
