HANNIBAL, NY – Harold A. Carlson Jr., 89, of Sterling, passed away on Sunday January 25, 2015, at Oswego Hospital.
He was born on September 17, 1925, in Bridgeport, Conn., a son to the late Harold A. and Helen Jursik Carlson Sr.
Harold attended Colgate University at the age of 15 and then went to NY Medical College where he graduated with his Doctorate.
He then practiced for 40 years as a board certified radiologist, where he then retired from Oswego Hospital in 1988.
Harold enjoyed golfing, skiing and fishing.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, May “Bunty” Carlson, in 2002; and sister, Ruth Ann Gilbert.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his four children, Jennifer (Thomas) Torgersen of Maryland, Christopher Carlson of Sterling, Jane (Rob) Seaman of Massachusetts and Holly (Gary) VanRomer of Florida; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlene Carlson of Connecticut; as well as several nieces and nephews.
As per Dr. Carlson’s request, there will be no calling hours or services.
Spring burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Sterling.
