FULTON – Horace “Uncle Darb” H. Holder, 79, of Fulton, NY passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, Horace and Louretta (Warrington) Holder.
Horace is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ireta (Griswold) Holder; children, Amanda (Ben) Petrie, Brian (Nicole) Holder, and Megan Holder; grandchildren, Hannah, Isabella and Gavin; brother, Steve (Missy) Holder; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Horace faithfully served 20 years in the military, with eight years in the Navy and 12 years in the Air Force. After being honorably discharged Horace went to serve his community in the local Police Departments in Wyoming County and Oswego County in his final years.
Horace enjoyed his word search puzzle books and getting his beauty sleep. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a faithful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
A graveside service celebrating Horace’s life will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Western New York National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY 14036, where he will be accorded full military honors.
