James E. Conn, 83

FULTON, NY – James E. Conn, 83, of Granby, passed away Sunday March 17, 2013, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Fulton, a son to the late Louis and Marjorie (Cooper) Conn and resided all his life in the Fulton, Granby and Hannibal area.

Jim was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He retired in 1989 from Alcan, where he worked for 20 years.

Jim was an avid fisherman, enjoyed racing and going to the Turning Stone Casino.

He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine (Kelly) Conn, who died August 30, 2003; four brothers, Lewis Jr., Chuck, Billy and Gary Conn; a grandson, Tommy Conn, who died in 2001; and by a son-in-law, Ed Walker Jr., who died in 2011.

Jim is survived by two daughters, Mary-Jane (Ron) Abbott of Marcellus and Carol Walker of Buffalo; two sons, Terry (Susan) Conn of Cato and Ken (Lin) Conn of Fulton; two sisters, Shirley (Bob) Pederson of Fulton and Beverly (Lloyd) DuBois of Volney; two brothers, Dickie Conn of Granby and Don Conn of Granby; six grandchildren, Ashley Walker, Nicholas Walker, Jasmine Conn, Jayden Conn, Louisa Conn and Louis Conn; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday with services to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
