Joanne M. Camp, 86

FULTON, NY – Joanne M. Camp, 86, formerly of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday May 3, 2017, at the Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Johnson City.

Born in Detroit, Joanne graduated from Marshall High School in Michigan and also attended some college at Michigan State University.

Joanne moved to Fulton in 1969 where she lived until 2014.

Joanne had also lived in Marshall, Mich., Westfield, NY, and Bloomfield, Conn.

She loved music, and served as chair of the music committee for many years at the Christian Science Church in Syracuse where she was a very active member.

Joanne played violin in her younger years and also played the piano her entire life.

She loved her grandchildren dearly.

Joanne will always be remembered for her friendly and talkative nature as she was able to strike up a conversation with anyone.

Joanne was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, William Camp, in 2004; parents, Raymond and Daisy McKeachie; and her brothers, Philip and Leslie McKeachie.

Surviving are her son, David (Diane) Camp of Pleasanton, Calif.; daughter, Carolyn (Richard) Bonzek of Vestal; and her grandchildren, Owen and Ella Camp, Matthew Asher, Amy (Daniel) Hudy and Sarah Asher.

A memorial service will be noon on Saturday, June 3, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

In lieu of calling hours, the family asks you to join them for food and conversation immediately following the memorial service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Red Brick Pub, 224 W. First St., Fulton.
