John C. ‘Pug’ Sixberry Sr.

FULTON, NY – John C.  “Pug” Sixberry Sr., 62, of Mexico, passed away Wednesday May 29, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.

A native of the Mexico area, John had owned and operated Family Firewood & Excavating for more than 25 years.

He was an Army veteran.

Always ready for a laugh or his next prank, Pug enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Grover and Natalie Myers Sixberry Sr.; an uncle, Bobby Myers; a sister, Lila Weiland; a brother, Steven Sixberry; and daughter, Wendy Steingraber.

John will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 32 years, Bonnie Sixberry; children,  Natalie “Joy” Corlis, Carol Sixberry, Destenie (John) Scott, John Sixberry Jr., Amber (Dave) Sadowski, Jason (Jessica) Sixberry; siblings, Grover Sixberry Jr., David (Audra) Sixberry and Sharon (Brian) Kitney; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; aunts, uncles and cousins.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at North Volney Cemetery, County Route 4, Volney.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home 910 Fay St., Fulton.
