John E. LaClair, 93

FULTON, NY – John E. LaClair, 93 of Fulton, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton.

His working career started at the American Woolen Mill and Nestle Company both in Fulton and he was a skilled trade machinist at General Electric Company in Liverpool.

John was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, a life member and past commander of V.F.W. Post #569 in Fulton where he served with its Honor Guard for 10 years and was named 2010 Veteran of the Year by the Fulton Veteran’s Council.

He had been a pilot for skydivers at Fulton Airport many years ago.

John was predeceased by his wife, Rita Smith LaClair, who died in 2002; and by a son, David Ralph LaClair.

Surviving are his daughter, Linda (Patrick) Acquaviva of Fulton; sister, Beatrice LaClair of Liverpool; brother, David LaClair of Fulton; three granddaughters, Lauri Maher and Bonita (Brian) Guernsey both of Fulton and Shannon (Michael) Cooper of Russellville, Ariz.; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton and graveside services with military honors will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Adnah Cemetery in Fulton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 62 S. First St., Fulton 13069 or Paws Across Oswego County, 2035 County Route 1, Oswego, 13126.
