OSWEGO – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marissa K. Cali-Cummins, who left this world on Monday, September 28th, 2026, at the age of 35. Born on Friday, May 24th, 1991, in Oswego, New York, Marissa was a beloved resident of Canandaigua, NY, where she touched the lives of many.

 

Marissa was a dedicated Assistant Store Manager at Aldi in Canandaigua, NY, where she was known for her hard work, leadership, and the warmth she brought to her colleagues and customers alike. Her passion for life extended beyond her professional endeavors; she found joy in fishing, kayaking, and camping, and she especially cherished the moments spent cooking for her family. An avid artist, Marissa expressed her creativity through her beautiful paintings, leaving behind a legacy of art that will continue to inspire.

 

Marissa is survived by her loving father, Joseph (Jodi) Cummins of Hannibal, NY, and her mother, Kelly Hines. She also leaves behind her cherished grandparents, Joseph and Ly Cummins; her devoted siblings, Jessica (Jasson) Obomsawin, Lacy (Hector) Alejandro, Jr., and Joseph (Alexis) Cummins; her adored nephews, James, Enrique, and Toby; her beloved niece, Malina; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

 

She was preceded in death by her precious daughters, Charlee, Joey, and Demi Cali-Cummins, her faithful companion, Tator; as well as her maternal grandparents, Sylvester and Judy Hines.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 10 am to 12 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 12 pm at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal, NY. Marissa will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Fairdale Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a cause close to Marissa’s heart.
