Mary S. McGivney, 87

FULTON, NY – Mary Suydam McGivney, 87, of Oswego, formerly of Fulton, passed away Wednesday January 16, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

A native of Fulton, Mary graduated from Fulton High School in 1942 and had attended the University of Rochester.

In 1974, Mary moved to Fair Haven where she resided until her retirement from Dr. John Rodger’s office in 1992 upon which she and her husband, George, moved to Bonita Springs, Florida.

In 2008, Mary returned to New York moving to Baldwinsville.

She was an avid reader, bridge player, enjoyed exercising (walking) and travelling.

Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Kreiger Moore, who died in 1953; and by her second husband, George V. McGivney, who died in 2003; sons, Thomas McGivney, who died in 1980 and Donald McGivney, who died in 2012.

She is survived by a daughter, Kelley McGivney of Peconic, Long Island; two sons, Kreiger F. (Anne) McGivney of Oswego and George M. McGivney of Syracuse; one grandson, Bradley McGivney of Oswego.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, corner of Rochester and South Third streets, Fulton.

Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
