FULTON – With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Maverette J. Lincoln, who left us on Sunday, February 1st, 2026 to her heavenly home. Born August 30th, 1940, in Warners, New York, Maverette was a lifelong resident of Cato, NY.

Maverette is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Carl D. Lincoln, and three children; Carrie (Michael) Gallagher, Sherri (Steve) Woods, and Don (Lisa) Lincoln.  A proud grandmother of six grandchildren; Gregory (Melody) Gallagher, Jay (Shelby) Woods, Alicia (Ryan) Guertin, Josh (Caitlyn) Woods, Seth Lincoln, and Bryce Lincoln, and seven great-grandchildren; Jayden, Avery, Carson, Baker, Ennis, Sullivan, and Murphy. Her brother, James (Tricia) Lyon, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Maverette in death were her parents, Jay and Harriette Lyon, her brother Leroy Lyon, and her sister Phyllis Lyon.

Maverette worked as an Office Manager at E. D. Clapp. Later, she warmly greeted community members at the Cato Recreational Center’s front desk, providing a friendly face to all who walked through the doors.

Maverette found strength and joy in serving her Lord Jesus Christ by caring for her family, quilting, cooking, baking, gardening, and infusing each task with creativity and love. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Maverette leaves behind a legacy of love, service, dedication, and friendship. Maverette is deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1pm to 3pm at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal, NY. A service celebrating Maverette’s life will follow at 3pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring.
