Paul Malone, 95

HANNIBAL, NY – Paul Malone, 95, passed away early evening, Saturday May 9, 2015.

He was one of 13 children of Frederick and Ellen Malone, nine boys and four girls.

He grew up in Hannibal and spent most of his life in the Fulton area.

Paul married Lillian Salvage in 1944 and they were together until her death in 2004.

He retired in 1982 from CCA in Fulton after 30 years of service.

He was the town of Granby supervisor from 1974 to 1977 and 1984 to 1987.

Paul became a lifetime member of Granby Center Volunteer Fire Department in 1955 and had served as fire commissioner for several years.

In 2000, he received the Outstanding Citizen Award for the Town of Granby and his name had been etched into a plaque at the Town Hall.

In 2011, he moved to Lexington, Kentucky, to live with his daughter.

Paul loved being outdoors and spent many hours maintaining his lawn and gardens.

He was an avid boater and enjoyed his time on the boat.

He loved woodworking and used those skills on many projects including the restoration of antique wooden (woodie) boats and had two of his own beautiful Century boats to show for his efforts.

He is survived by a son, Paul W. (Karen Lockrow) Malone; a daughter, Mary A. Malone; grandson, Gary (Christine Gardner) Malone; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Emily.

Paul is also survived by a sister, Agnes LaClair; and a brother, Maurice (Theresa) Malone.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, May 18, at Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 923 Cayuga St., Hannibal.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fulton.

Calling hours will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.

In memory of Paul, contributions may be made to Granby Center Volunteer Fire Department, 1400 County Route 8, Fulton, 13069.
