Richard ‘Dick’ Wright Sr., 77

HANNIBAL – Richard “Dick” Wright Sr., 77, of Sterling, died Friday morning June 12, 2015, at home.

He was born in Sterling, a son to the late, Burchard and Edith Pettit Wright and was a life resident of Sterling.

Dick retired in 1997 as a mechanic at Nestle Company in Fulton after 35 years.

He was an Air Force veteran serving from 1956 to 1960 and a member of the Hannibal American Legion Prior Stock Post 1552.

Dick was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Sutterby, who died in 1992, June Hall, who died in 2005 and Betty Wright, who died in 2006.

Surviving are: two daughters, Robin Hall and Teresa Malcott both of Fulton; three sons, Craig Wright of Florida, Richard Wright Jr. of Irondequoit and Jeffery Wright of Red Creek; two brothers, Arthur and Thomas Wright both of Sterling; three sisters, Jean Smith of Buffalo, Nan Powers of Sterling and Clara Crocker of Sterling; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 17, with services to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.

Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Sterling.

Contribution in memory of Mr. Wright may be made to the Hannibal American Legion Prior Stock Post 1552, 226 Rochester St., Hannibal, NY 13074.
