Ricky “Rick” A. Colegrove

FULTON – Ricky “Rick” A. Colegrove passed away peacefully Sunday, March 1st, 2026, at Saint Camillus nursing home. Born in Fulton to Robert Colegrove Sr. and Lila (LaMond) Dubois.

In 64 years, Rick was many things to many people. He was a son, brother, dad, uncle, friend and hero. He spent half of his life in Oswego County, NY and the other half in North Carolina.

In the 1980’s he joined the United States Navy and proudly served on the USS Bainbridge; out in the white Pacific Indian Ocean. The ship was attacked by pirates and quickly brought back under control. In 2008 Rick rejoined the service through United States Army. He served in Designated Imminent Danger areas of Kuwait / Iraq war zone receiving many medals and ribbons.

Rick had an exceptional memory for telling jokes and making others laugh.

Rick is survived by his daughter, Samanthia Wetzel; son, Brian “Chase” Patterson of NC; his mother, Lila (LaMond) Dubois of Bunnlevel, NC; stepmother, Margal Colegrove, Oswego NY; his siblings, Robert Covegrove, Jr., Mark Colegrove, Kelly (Colegrove) Deyo of NC, Lori (Colegrove) Schell of Oswego, NY and stepsister, Heather (Wood) Hibbert of New Haven, NY.

Rick was predeceased by his father, Robert Colegrove, Sr; brothers, Randy Colegrove and Michael Wood.
