Robert F. Pierce, 80, of Fulton died Thursday at Oswego Hospital.

He was a life resident of Fulton. Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He owned and operated Pierce Automotive Service in Fulton for over 50 years. He was the former Captain of the Special Forces of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department. Bob was a member of the Merton R. Kemp Marine Corps League; a 50 year member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #144 in Fulton and a member of the Media Shriners in Watertown. He raced Supermodifieds in Oswego for several years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Norma J. Aesch Pierce, who died September 2, 2004; his parents, Melzer “Doc” Barney and Phoebe Pierce; sisters, Margaret Bonner and Phoebe Wood and by a brother, Melvin Pierce.

Bob is survived by 15 nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Yvonne Pringle and Edith Jackson; and by his dog, “Puppy”.

Calling hours are 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday with a service to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. Private burial will be in Mallory Cemetery.
