Sylvia I. Jenks, 86

HANNIBAL, NY – Sylvia I. Jenks, 86, of Sterling, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego.

A native of Cato, she lived in the Sterling area most of her life.

Sylvia was a longtime devoted member of the Sterling Valley Community Church and Women’s Federation.

The most important thing to Sylvia was serving her Lord and Master by caring for and loving others as Jesus would.

She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Jenks; and son, Johnny Jenks.

Surviving are her children, Melody (Kenneth) Scott of Sterling and Marvin Jenks of Hannibal; daughter-in-law, Dianne Jenks of Hannibal; sisters, Gloria (Wayne) Gardner, Lburta (Louis) Lachut and Alice Bartlett; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal, NY, with services immediately following at 1 p.m.

Contributions are encouraged to the Sterling Valley Community Church Memorial Fund, 15099 Sterling Valley Road, Sterling, NY 13156.

The family wishes to thank the care givers at St. Francis Commons and St. Luke Health Services for the loving care that Sylvia received while she was in residence.
