Sylvia Pauline (Austin) Elliott

OSWEGO – With deep sorrow, her family announces that Sylvia Pauline (Austin) Elliott, age 88, passed away August 10, 2026, in Oswego, NY.

She was born and raised in Thorndike, Maine, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lillian Austin. She settled with her family in Central New York in the late 1960s, living first in Newark before settling into her home community of Fair Haven. She loved spending time with her family and being outside in all kinds of weather. A fiercely independent woman, she enjoyed taking care of her home in Fair Haven – mowing the lawn and shoveling the snow – and having picnics at the beach, exercising, and going for walks after every big holiday meal.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by her four children: David (Tonya) Elliott of Moody, TX; Sonja Elliott of Orchard Park, NY; Michaeline Slattery of Oswego, NY; and Eric (Laurie) Elliott of Weedsport, NY; six grandchildren: Rachel, Chris, Jordan, Nicole, Matthew, and Sydney; and seven great-grandchildren: Jarek and Rhettlee (Nicole); Mason and Savannah (Rachel); and Alex, Grayson, and Olivia (Chris).

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00am – Noon at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY, followed immediately by a memorial service celebrating Sylvia’s life. We invite all who knew and loved Sylvia to join us in honoring her memory. Sylvia will be laid to rest at the Springbrook Cemetery on Route 104A in Sterling, NY.
