William F. Sullivan, Jr., 83 of Hannibal, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego.

A native of Syracuse, he resided in Hannibal since 1974. William worked as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Local #747 in Oswego. He had previously worked at W. F. Sullivan’s Clothing Store in Syracuse for 28 years which his family owned and operated.

William was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal. He was a member of American Legion Prior Stock Post 1552 in Hannibal and Post 268 in Oswego, V.F.W. Post 5380 in Hannibal, was a founding and life member of AMVETS Post 1017 in Hannibal and Elks Lodge 830, Fulton. William served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He was an avid hunter.

William was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Margaret T. Sullivan, who died in 2000 and a sister, Joan Kilmartin. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Sullivan of Peoria, AZ, Kelley (Jeffrey) Baker and Meghan (Todd) Welling of Hannibal; three sons, William (Cindy) Sullivan, Patrick (Sue) Sullivan and Michael Sullivan all of Hannibal; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 11 AM Monday at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 923 Cayuga Street, Hannibal with burial at Hannibal Village Cemetery, Hannibal. Calling hours will be 3 to 6 PM Sunday at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.
