Molly L. Wheeler
FULTON – Molly L. Wheeler, 82, of Fulton, NY, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home. Born on August 23, 1943, in Fulton, Molly spent her entire life in her beloved community.

She was married to Richard Everett Wheeler for over 50 years, and together they raised three children: daughter Adele (Al) Haskins, Richard II, and Starr Wheeler (Richard Shoen). In addition, Molly embraced three step-children, Linda Smith, Laurie Suppes, and Marcia (Shan) Wheeler, and was blessed with over 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Molly is survived by her brother, Ivan (Linda) Coant, also of Fulton.

Molly was known for her generous spirit and always made room for one more at the dinner table or for coffee. She was a vibrant member of the community, dedicating over 25 years to the Fulton YMCA and also working at Cayuga Community College and Eagle Comtronics. Her strong faith was evident in her involvement with the First United Methodist Church of Fulton, where she founded “A Smile For Christmas,” distributing food baskets for Thanksgiving and gifts during the holiday season. Molly had a heart for those in need, welcoming several Fresh Air Children from New York City into her home each summer.

An active volunteer, Molly contributed her time and efforts to support her church and its missions, believing firmly in the importance of giving back.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, and cherishing moments with her grandchildren. Molly will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, followed by a celebration of life at the First United Methodist Church, 1408 NY-176, Fulton, NY.
